Firefly Kitchen ownersThe planning for Firefly Kitchens began in 2009. Julie O’Brien and Richard Climenhage (co-owners) wanted to create foods that were healthy, nutrient dense and tasted great. One year later the company was formed with a focus on “naturally fermented foods”. Through fermentation various foods unlock even more nutrients and create living enzymes making them more available for digestion and absorption by the body.

2011 saw the Firefly Kitchens expand into its own kitchen space located in Seattle, WA. Here the owners are in the process of creating an environment of healthful food production combined with hands-on classroom training.

All Firefly Kitchen products are made with organic ingredients as well as being gluten, soy and dairy free. Firefly Kitchens fermented foods are made with mostly local, when seasonally available, and always organic produce. Their foods are naturally preserved without heat or vinegar and contain tons of natural enzymes and healthy bacteria.
