Quincy, Washington
Named after owner and farmer Roberto Guerrero, R.P. Guerrero Farms was certified organic in 2007. Roberto’s family owned a small farm in central Mexico, where he learned to tend the family orchard from the age of seven. Immigrating to the United States at 14, Roberto did seasonal work in farming communities along the West Coast, always dreaming of the day he could own his own farm. In time, he managed to see his oldest son attend college in Corvallis and become a local educator.
Now 67, Roberto is a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced farmer and works harder than a man half his age. His son Jesus, the teacher, spends his summer breaks helping out on the farm in appreciation of his father’s gift to him. Their crops are well tended, hand-harvested and delicious. Situated on ten acres outside of Quincy, Washington, they grow cherries, apricots, a variety of apples, peaches and a small one-acre plot of vegetables.
