California Dreaming – Part 2: Moving in
This post written by Full Circle’s Director of Operations – Chris Doyle
The big news of the week is that our San Mateo health department plan came back with a stamp of approval! That means we can proceed as planned with our build-out of the warehouse space. We also completed our electrical upgrades this week and our landlord in nearly finished with the office upgrades, which means we now have painted walls and new floors.
We’ve got a lot of items ordered and ready to add in, including employee lockers, sinks, faucets, pallet racking, shelving, tables and much more! It’s amazing how much equipment is needed to deliver great produce.
We are happy to be a part of the South San Francisco business community. You can expect to see us joining the local chamber of commerce soon!
Our garbage and recycling containers have arrived. Next week our compost dumpster will be delivered. We go to great lengths to sort our waste products and if it has to be disposed of, we do it properly.
Our offices are coming together and I am sure you can recognize the Full Circle orange on the walls. Creating a space that embodies our brand is important to us.
This week we received our San Mateo County Health Department approved plan. This is an important milestone for us, as it will ensure that our facility is in compliance with health department regulations. A crucial step in delivering healthy food to our customers. The plans are posted and contractors are giving estimates for all the needed work.
We’re not sure about the name of this plumbing outfit, but we can tell you that Jorge here knows his stuff and didn’t smell a bit!
Our electrician is checking the specs on our refrigeration equipment prior to installation.
This space looks big and open right now, but not for long. Just on the other side of that yellow post is where the walk in cooler will be installed. We spent a good number of hours scrubbing the floors this week. Prior to moving in we want to get the space as clean as possible.
The week ended with a lot of estimates and equipment gathering. To see what our warehouse looked like to start with check out our California Dreaming – Part 1 post. Over the course of the next couple weeks we will start to see a lot more progress as our new warehouse takes shape. Stay tuned.
