California Dreaming – Part 4: Building it Out
This post written by our Operations Director – Chris Doyle
This walk in freezer is up and waiting to get wired up. This 200 square foot freezer served us for several years in Seattle and allowed us to properly store products like Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish, par baked bread, and more to offer to our customers. We also use the freezer to freeze the ice packs we use for shipping out chilled products like tofu, eggs, dairy, etc. We are glad to see this -20 degree cold storage location getting another life here in CA.
Our walk in cooler is going up fast and will be a dominant feature in our building. The cooler is just under 3,000 square feet, we will have plenty of room to serve our Bay Area customers for years to come! Additionally, the warehouse is large enough for us to expand this refrigerated space considerably.
Along with one of our contractor’s equipment you can see the cracked chunk of floor excavated where our plumbing project will take place to install all the sinks and sanitation equipment we need.
Here our contractor is preparing to start assembling the ceiling of the cooler. It all goes together one panel at a time.
This picture was taken from the same spot as some of our earlier photo’s -notably one that showed Andrew Stout , our Founder and CEO looking into the warehouse. We’re sure our way to making his vision a reality here. It all looks a little chaotic, but it is coming together!
