3 Decadent Summer Dessert Recipes
As summer peaks her head through the clouds and gives us the full warmth of her smiling face it’s great to compliment such a seemingly auspicious beginning with fresh and seasonal fair. Fava beans, watermelons, green garlic, rhubarb, peaches, cherries, strawberries, all flavors the sun and warmth will bring us in plenty.
So here are three recipes that you can use to embrace the beginning of this delicious summer season:
Our wonderful Farm Foodie only posted the luscious dessert a few weeks ago, but it’s worth repeating. This is amazing. If you like rhubarb, you just can’t beat it. A touch of Madagacsar-grown Bourbon vanilla beans, some strawberries even and you’ve got a filling or topping to die for.
Stone fruits are already showing up in our orders and soon domestic fruit will be all the rage. Make sure you try this soft, lightly sweet peach cake with ice cream or just a cup of coffee. The peaches bubble in their juices and caramelize to a deliciously sweet and rich topping when turned right-side up.
I know we pulled this one out of the archives last month, but if you didn’t see it then, you have to try it now. As summer sun sweetens fields of these juicy ruby-colored gems, and you get sick of shortcake (who could get sick of shortcake?!) or strawberry ice cream (what??!), try these amazing butter flavored berry-bready treats.
So there you have it. Three perfect dessert to celebrate the upcoming summer season. What are you just dieing for these days? Let us know in the comments below!
