Five Great Reasons To Join Full Circle
As we inch along into our Northwest summer this week we transplanted over 4800 sq ft/bed of leeks from our greenhouses, a quarter of our overall planting into the ever-soggy fields. The smell of transplanting these miraculous, Kenton variety was a delight for the senses, pungent and sweet in their early stage, they will soon grow strong and layered and delight our late summer meals.
In Carnation as is the case all across the country, organic growers are working hard to utilize the long evenings and warmer days to produce those long awaited fruits and vegetables that explode our taste buds with fresh flavor. The crops are fresh, intense, vibrant and true to their core in flavor and nutrition. In our farm to table program we strive with great success to bring these organic fruits and vegetables into your home and hopefully the connection and experience that went into cultivating them.
Through our program you will access the season’s best products, be it fruits, veggies, herbs, seafood, dairy, meat, chocolates infused with the local growers basil or cherries; we are committed to sourcing and growing the highest quality, sustainably raised food collection.
Here are my top five reasons to become a lifelong Full Circle member.
As we head into summer our bodies are craving lighter, fresher, and more unique varieties of food that will not weigh us down and keep us indoors. This is the season to invigorate your body and fill it with the nutrients and wholesome goodness it deserves.
In our box program you can customize from many local choices creating the perfect, convenient, and necessary step to healthy living. Each week you will receive a promise to yourself to eat more robust, healthful food. We will make it easy as we provide the bounty and recipes to create.
Make Organic Fruits And Vegetables The Center Of Every Meal
In our Full Circle membership we are committed to supporting only those growers that are certified organic and sustainable in their practice as this provides the core longevity and responsible piece to creating a better food environment. Engaging in this practice every day will make a difference in the health of our bodies. When you choose to keep harmful industrial waste food and preservatives out of your body, fruits and vegetables that are grown without any pesticides are the principle building blocks that sustain us and the flora and fauna for generations to come.
Know Your Grower
We love this reason as it cuts to the core of our deepest beliefs—knowing where and how your food is produced. There are many fantastic folks that we partner with in bringing you their local harvest, their catch of the day, their prized works of art in a jar, in a loaf of bread, in a bar of chocolate.
The people we partner with just to name a few, like Herbert Family Farm in Hollister California, Seattle’s Theo Chocolates, Essential Baking Company, Firefly kitchen, Heritage Meats out of Rochester, WA, Copper River Fish Market in Cordova, Alaska, are all amazing farmers, artisans, chefs, fisherpeoples who delight in what they do and are fully committed to improving the food system and the environment.
They all have their own unique story that brings their food alive and transfers this energy to you weekly in our box. Look for the “Partner Profile” every week in our farm notes.
Get Involved With The Local Community
Our box program helps you get involved at a local level. Be a farmer for a day, head to the farmers markets, meet the local chefs, go berry picking; these are all events that we love to sponsor and feel it is our duty and hope to make it easy for you to connect and feel the experience firsthand. We offer farm tours of our Griffin Creek Farm every Friday and Saturday through October, just email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot and savor the produce straight from the fields and the wonder of the land! In our weekly Farm notes you will find special announcements for many local happenings that you can get involved in and make a difference.
Do Something Long Lasting For The Environment
It is vital that we all play a role in preserving farmland, wildlife and diversity. You will be making a direct contribution each week in your purchase of our box to the growers, many of them long standing family operations as well as new farmers trying to get started. Every week we will inform you of the “Crop Reports”. Here we are able to give you an opportunity to engage in the field happenings, farming reports from many different growers in Oregon, California, and Washington to name just a few.
We will have information on current happenings on the land, in the politics of agriculture, and the pure growing info we love to share. Your commitment to eating organic and sustainable is an important step in leaving a lasting change. Help us to spread the message and provide the platform for everyone to play a part in making our food system healthy for everyone.
