About the producer

Jesse Merrill founded Good Culture after embarking on his own health journey to manage symptoms of ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune gut disease caused by chronic inflammation. He found that through eating a selective diet that included only cultured dairy, grass-fed animal protein, cooked vegetables, and fruit, he was able to completely relieve the symptoms of his disease. His experience validated his belief that food is medicine, and he was inspired to launch Good Culture—a “real healing foods” company that’s focused on high-quality cultured dairy products.

Through Good Culture’s founding, Jesse learned that most U.S. dairy cows are confined, creating both and animal welfare and environmental problem. He found this unacceptable and pushed to start work on changing the food system by creating a regenerative and pasture-raised milk supply. He sums it up perfectly: “Our mission is to make healing real foods available to all without hurting our planet or animals. This guides every decision we make.”
