About the producer
Dr. Cheryl Mitchell Barnett learned about pimento cheese from Emmy, a woman she called her "second mom," who made it with a pinch-of-this, pinch-of-that approach that never involved measuring cups. Cheryl became hooked on the rich, velvety texture. For 14 years, she practiced as an orthodontist and made countless bowls of pimento cheese for friends and family gatherings, refining the recipe along the way.
After Emmy tasted Cheryl's recipe and gave it her approval, she named that version "Emmy's Original" and launched MyThreeSons Gourmet in 2010. All of their dips and spreads are made without fillers, gums, or thickeners — the kind of ingredients Cheryl never would have used in her own kitchen.
