About the producer
Pierre Barlier founded Out of the Woods, but has a long history of innovation in post-consumer waste. His focus had always been on eliminating single-use plastic and finding materials that could serve as viable alternatives.
Out of the Woods centers on what Pierre calls Supernatural Paper, a material made from tree pulp sourced from responsibly managed forests where trees are harvested and replanted. The paper is treated to make it washable and durable, giving it qualities more commonly associated with leather or heavy fabric. The material has a lower environmental impact than plastic, cotton, or animal hide, and the production process returns 93 percent of the water used back to its source.
