About the producer
Monica Cornitcher and Inga Dyer had been friends for over 30 years when Inga was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time in 2022. Inga went through treatment during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Inga couldn't drink alcohol, and when they searched for non-alcoholic options that tasted like the cocktails they loved, nothing came close.
They named the brand Medase (meaning "thank you" in the Akan language of Ghana) and developed mocktails that captured the flavors of classic cocktails and were formulated to be low-calorie, gluten-free, and vegan.
Inga was able to taste their first two flavors before she passed away in 2024. (The Moscow mule was her favorite.) Monica continues the business in Inga's honor, carrying forward the friendship that inspired it and the conversations that shaped it, one glass at a time.
