Wheatberries taste a little bit nutty and give a nice depth to oatmeal. They're also filling and an awesome way to start the morning.
INSTRUCTIONS
In a small saucepan, bring the water and wheatberries to a boil. Turn the heat down to a simmer and cook until the wheatberries are cooked through, about 1 hour. Remove from heat and drain.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook the milk, oatmeal, apricots and raisins until the oatmeal is cooked, about 2 minutes. Stir in the wheatberries and honey. Serve the oatmeal and top with almonds and apple pieces. To reheat leftovers, simmer the oatmeal with a little bit of milk until heated through.
