In 2000, Ryan, Edmund, and Jeremy founded SAMBAZON after experiencing their first açaí bowl in Brazil. Inspired by the superfruit's incredible powers and the Amazon's breathtaking biodiversity, they built their business on a philosophy that prioritizes people, planet, and prosperity. Their mission became clear: create a sustainable way to protect the Amazon rainforest while supporting the thousands of family farmers who hand-harvest açaí.
From their pioneering USDA-certified organic açaí in 2003 to establishing the first Fair Trade certification for açaí in 2008, the founders have consistently pushed boundaries. Through their Fair Trade Fund, SAMBAZON has renovated schools, built libraries and sports centers, and improved healthcare access in grower communities.
