In 1917, a group of California farmers came together to build on a legacy that began in 1850 when Louis Pellier, the "father" of California prunes, first planted French variety prune plum stock in California.
For over a century, these farmer-members have been perfecting their craft, achieving milestones like patenting their pitting process in 1965 to bring perfectly pitted prunes to pantries everywhere.
