About the producer
Jeffrey Postlethwaite moved to Los Angeles at 23 to pursue acting, but his love of food kept calling him back. He spent three years developing and testing over 200 recipes with a group of self-described candy obsessives to find the perfect flavor for his line of gummy bears.
Jeffrey also wanted every flavor to come from fruit grown in California. He insisted on kosher gelatin, non-GMO ingredients, and colors derived from natural sources, avoiding high-fructose corn syrup. The bears themselves took a different shape from the classic design and were even inspired by the Golden State. California Gummy Bears launched in November 2019, carrying Jeffrey's commitment to making high-quality candy, batch by batch, in a kosher facility in the state that inspired them.
