Product details
In celebration of the Jane Goodall Institute, this certified organic seed mix contains flowers that are commonly grown in gardens across the United States: sunflower, poppies, calendula, echinacea, borage. They were selected to be easy to grow in many regions and provide food over long periods of time for honey bees, wild bees, butterflies, other pollinator insects, and birds! This is not a wildflower mix to use in a wild setting. These are flowers to feed pollinators close to your home, community garden, etc.

Plant these seeds either directly in the ground or in a large pot after danger of frost is over. Or start them indoors in smaller pots and transplant when chance of frost is over. You can pick out individual seeds to plant or plant the entire packet in an approximately 100 square foot area (try to give each seed about 6-8 inches of space). Keep soil moist, but don’t over water. Leave seed heads on plants after they have dried to feed the birds. Save seed by collecting flower heads when they have fully dried up. Store fully dried seeds in a cool dry place and plant again next year!
About the producer
In the spirit of planting seeds of peace, joy, beauty and food for this world, husband and wife Astrid and Matthew Hoffman created The Living Seed Company in 2011. They believe the power of people growing food together and saving their own seeds is one of the best ways to achieve both inner harmony and global prosperity.
The Living Seed Company is an organic and heirloom seed company dedicated to planting the seeds of World Peace. They are dedicated to preserving the diversity in our food through the distribution and growing of open pollinated seeds and educating about the life affirming art of seed saving.
The Living Seed Company has been breeding vegetables for over seven years and adapting them to the particular climates of the Pacific Coast. Through their breeding projects, they are able to offer seeds that are inherently more adapted while supporting seed diversity. They grow 25% - 30% of their own seed in three different plots all in and around Point Reyes Station, CA. The rest are sourced from farmers, mostly found in California and Oregon. Most of their seed is certified organic, and the methods used are beyond organic requirements. Many of the varieties available are heirloom, meaning they are treasures handed down over generations. All of their seed is non-GMO and neonicotinoid-free. All of the seed they grow is planted, harvested and packed by hand with love.
