Broccoli Sautéed in Wine and Garlic

Combine fresh green broccoli with wine and garlic for the perfect side dish. Adding red pepper flakes and touch of lemon zest adds a spicy, slightly fruity depth of flavor to this delicious recipe.

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

1 bunch broccoli, cut into florets

2/3 cup dry white wine

red pepper flakes to taste

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

 

INSTRUCTIONS

In a 10- to 12-inch sauté pan, heat the olive oil with the garlic over medium-high heat until just sizzling.

Add the broccoli and cook, tossing frequently. Pour in the wine and cook until the broccoli stalks are tender, 6 to 10 minutes (depending on your desired broccoli texture).

Add the red pepper flakes and lemon zest and toss well. Serve immediately.
